Noite de expectativas quebradas na Arena Condá. Na retomada do Campeonato Brasileiro após a Copa do Mundo, o que deveria ter sido uma intensa briga entre Chapecoense e Bahia pela vitória que salvaria uma das equipes de momentos de crise na competição, se transformou em um jogo truncado que só ganhou emoção nos minutos finais graças aos gols do estreante Gilberto e Osman.

O resultado mantém a Chapecoense na 14ª colocação, com 15 pontos. Por outro lado, o Bahia, que desperdiçou a chance de vencer a primeira partida fora de casa e garantir um triunfo inédito sobre os catarinenses, segue na amarga zona de rebaixamento, com 13 pontos.

Bahia domina perigo na etapa inicial
A Chapecoense saiu com a bola, mas o Bahia não demorou para mostrar que seria um adversário complicado. Dependendo da vitória para deixar a zona de rebaixamento, o Tricolor dominou as primeiras jogadas perigosas da partida enquanto a Chapecoense, atrapalhada pelos erros, poucas vezes se aproximou da meta de Anderson.

Na melhor chance catarinense, Wellington Paulista arrancou pela direita e cruzou na área para Bruno Silva, mas o meia não chegou a tempo. Como resposta, o Bahia, que já havia exigido Jandrei em chute de Zé Rafael, voltou a assustar com o camisa 10, que desperdiçou falta próxima da área, mas recuperou na sobra e quase encobriu o arqueiro alviverde, que subiu para segurar a bola, concluindo uma grande defesa.

Chapecoense se concentra na defesa
Em noite apagada para os meias da Chapecoense, o time manteve a dificuldade para criar jogadas na etapa inicial e não encontrou outra alternativa senão voltar o jogo para o setor defensivo, enquanto o Bahia manteve a movimentação em busca de espaços. O desespero em não levar gols por pouco não deixou os catarinenses em maus lençóis quando Gilberto driblou Thyere e entrou em velocidade na grande área, sendo derrubado por Jandrei. Enfurecidos, os jogadores do Bahia pediram pênalti, mas a arbitragem mandou seguir.

Quatro atacantes em campo
Após ver o Bahia dominar o primeiro tempo, a Chapecoense voltou com três atacantes para a etapa final e, apesar de ter gerado um certo equilibrio nos primeiros minutos de bola rolando, logo mostrou dificuldade para bloquear os avanços do rival. Pressionado pela torcida, Gilson Kleina provomeu a entrada de Osman na vaga de Bruno Silva, mas diante de atuações travadas, o máximo que o camisa 77 conseguiu foi dar um pouco de velocidade ao jogo.

Final truncado
Apesar de ter segurado mais a posse de bola, a Chapecoense continuou sem criar jogadas perigosas e teve sua melhor chance quando Wellington Paulista rececebeu cruzamento de Eduardo e cabeceou forte no chão, mas Anderson concluiu a defesa em dois tempos. Tudo indicava para uma noite sem perigo, até que Elton invadiu a linha de fundo e cruzou a bola dentro da grande área para Gilberto subir mais que todo mundo e carimbar o fundo das redes com gol de cabeça aos 33 minutos.

Reviravolta
Quando o Bahia já comemorava o fim do jejum de quatro jogos sem vitória, a Chapecoense despertou na partida. Em disparada, Eduardo deixou os marcadores do Bahia para trás e fez um belo lançamento para Osman, que garantiu o empate para os donos da casa aos 39 minutos. No restante da partida, as duas equipes mantiveram a intensidade em busca da virada, mas os goleiros não tiveram grandes preocupações.

After handsome victories over their closest rivals in consecutive games, who would say that Durham do not deserve to be champions? They are in pole position now, this win taking them 14.5 points clear of Yorkshire at the top of the Division One table with three matches to go.The race is not done yet. Should Yorkshire bounce back when they test Sussex’s fragile confidence at Hove next week and Durham come unstuck in the face of Derbyshire’s spirited survival bid, it could all change again. Yet there is something about the skill and enthusiasm propelling this young Durham squad that makes Yorkshire’s claim seem less compelling.Durham had this wrapped up before tea, on the third day no less, as Sussex fell away woefully, lacking self-belief with so many absentees. It will be recorded among Sussex’s heaviest defeats after the statistic emerged that their combined total of runs – 228 – was their lowest in a single match since 1926.That should not take away from Durham’s achievement, given that they were not without their own problems, losing Ben Stokes to England and with Callum Thorp, Mark Wood and Jamie Harrison unavailable through injury. O Maracanã estará sob controle do Governo do Rio de Janeiro dentro de 30 dias. O motivo é que o governador Wilson Witzel (PSC-RJ) publicou no Diário Oficial o cancelamento da concessão que dava o estádio ao Complexo Maracanã, empresa ligada a Odebrecht que administra o local. Mas, muitas duvidas ficaram no ar e o LANCE! foi atrás para responder algumas delas.

A reportagem entrou em contato com o Governo do Rio de Janeiro, com o Complexo Maracanã e com os clubes envolvidos para entender a situação e montou este perguntas e respostas – e também levantou algumas dúvidas – sobre este processo envolvendo o cancelamento da concessão do estádio. Confira!

Por qual motivo a concessão foi cancelada?
Durante a entrevista coletiva, o governador Wilson Witzel alegou que existe uma dívida de R$ 38 milhões da concessionária com o Estado desde maio de 2017. Essa outorga gerou prejuízos ao Estado e este teria sido o principal gancho para o cancelamento da concessão.

O Complexo Maracanã tem quantos dias para deixar o estádio?
Decisão tem valor dentro de 30 dias à partir deste 18 de março. Ou seja, a empresa tem até o dia 19 de abril para deixar o local e passar o controle para o Governo do Rio de Janeiro.

Como ficam os contratos dos clubes?
Flamengo e Fluminense tinham contrato em vigor, Vasco negociava com o Consórcio.Todos os contratos com os clubes e o Consórcio serão cancelados. A partir de agora, os clubes terão que negociar diretamente com o Governo até que uma nova empresa assuma a administração do estádio.

Quando a nova licitação deve ser aberta?
Nova licitação deverá ser aberta nos próximos dois meses. Foi criada uma comissão consultiva – com sete pessoas – para tratar de assuntos relacionados ao Maracanã. A equipe apresentará um estudo preliminar em 30 dias para o Governo e um “parecer para a manutenção das atividades essenciais do complexo esportivo”.

Quem compõe essa comissão?
Ana Beatriz Leal, presidente;Cássio Rodrigues Barrreiros, membro indicado pela Secretaria de Estado da Casa Civil e Governança;Paulo Inácio Xavier, membro indicado pela Secretaria de Estado da Casa Civil e Governança;Paula da Silva Ramos, membro indicado pela Secretaria de Estado da Casa Civil e Governança;Paulo Vitor de Souza Araújo, membro indicado pela Secretaria de Esporte, Lazer e Juventude;Vanessa Fabiane Ferreira, membro indicado pela Secretaria de Esporte, Lazer e Juventude;Thiago Ribeiro de Paula, membro indicado pela Suderj.

Como fica o custeio do estádio?
Durante os próximos 30 dias, as partidas no Maracanã seguirão nos moldes atuais, tendo o Complexo Maracanã como administrador. Depois deste período, a organização ficará com o Governo do Rio de Janeiro, que negociará diretamente as questões burocráticas com os clubes.

Pode acontecer um clássico entre Fluminense e Vasco neste período?
A FERJ já determinou que não realizará clássicos entre Fluminense e Vasco no Maracnaã enquanto a questão do setor sul não for resolvida. Com isso, a tendência é que os jogos não sejam disputados no local.

Como fica a situação para a Copa América?
Witzel garantiu que os jogos da Copa América já agendados irão acontecer no Maracanã. Além disso, afirmou que conversou com o presidente da Conmebol, mantendo contato, para que o Rio de Janeiro não sofra prejuízo devido a isso.O Consórcio afirma que é necessário esclarecer que o CME está contratado pela Conmebol para realizar toda a operação de cinco jogos da Copa América, inclusive a final.

Qual o custo para manter o Maracanã?
A Comissão Consultiva tem estimativas de custo, baseadas em números da época em que o estádio era administrado pela Suderj, e os custos de operação dos jogos, que atualmente são pagos pelos clubes, o que daria por volta de R$ 2 milhões por mês. Nos primeiros 30 dias de atuação da Comissão Consultiva, serão auditados os custos fixos, e necessidades de reparo.

Como vai funcionar a permissão de uso?
A Comissão Consultiva vai definir o modelo de permissão de uso a ser adotado, com a FERJ ou uma empresa à frente do estádio a todo o momento, ou se essa gestão será compartilhada, com os clubes continuando à frente da gestão do estádio em dias de jogos. A Comissão Consultiva é que vai decidir quem será o permissionário e quais as condições da permissão de uso e quanto o permissionário vai pagar para o Estado.

E se a FERJ não quiser participar as permissão de uso? Há alternativa?
Por ser um modelo de permissão de uso, o estado pode escolher uma empresa. A permissão de uso permite uma maior possibilidade de atores envolvidos no processo de gestão. A gestão poderá ser feita pela FERJ, pelos clubes, por empresas, ou por mais de um destes.

O governo pode usar o mesmo modelo usado pela concessionária, em que os clubes pagam pelos jogos?
Isso será definido pela Comissão Consultiva, Mas é possível usar o mesmo tipo de estrutura, com benefício maior para os clubes. No atual modelo, existe a margem de lucro da concessionária, que não se sabe de quanto é, e no caso do sugerido pelo estado, não existiria margem de lucro, apenas os níveis de serviço estipulados e a fiscalização por parte do Estado para que esses serviços sejam de alto padrão.

E se a concessionária abandonar o estádio antes dos 30 dias?
A concessionária não pode abandonar o estádio porque, apesar de a caducidade estar decretada, os seus efeitos só passam a ter validade em 30 dias. As conversas com a concessionária se iniciam para que a saída seja a menos traumática para a população. Mas se, mesmo assim, houver abandono por parte da concessionária, o Governo do Estado vai conversar com a FERJ, CBF e Conmebol para que sejam feitas adaptações que causem o mínimo de prejuízo para as atividades do Complexo do Maracanã. O prejuízo maior seria deixar o local continuar a ser gerido da forma como a concessionária tem feito.

Por quanto tempo vale a permissão de uso?
A permissão de uso é em caráter precário. A princípio ela vale por 180 dias, e se necessário, pode ser realizada outra, enquanto durar o processo licitatório.

E se ninguém quiser pagar pelos jogos ou participar da permissão de uso?
O Maracanã é símbolo do Rio de Janeiro e do futebol. Existe interesse de clubes, federações e empresas em participar. Em último caso, a Suderj tomará à frente do estádio, pois existem fontes de receitas que pagam as despesas temporárias, o que não geraria reflexo no Regime de Recuperação Fiscal.

Como fica a arbitragem em andamento? A gestão termina sem que as partes acertem as contas?
A Procuradoria Geral do Estado vai administrar. A concessionária também está deixando um prejuízo por falta de investimento em manutenção e esses valores também serão cobrados pelo Estado.

E os contratos vigentes dos camarotes?
As liminares com relação aos camarotes serão cumpridas. A Comissão Consultiva vai estudar como os donos de camarote serão atendidos no novo modelo de gestão.

Como ficam os atuais contratos com fornecedores?
Esses contratos são de responsabilidade da concessionária, e é ela quem resolverá com os contratados.

Mas como o estádio vai funcionar se os contratos firmados pela concessionária deixarem de ser válidos?
Os contratos de publicidade, bebida, comida, bilhetagem, limpeza, segurança, e outros necessários para o funcionamento do estádio, estarão no contrato da permissão de uso. A Comissão Consultiva vai estudar cada um dos contratos explorados atualmente.

The same question can be asked of another flamboyant cricketer today as Shahid Afridi turned in one of the greatest all-round ODI performances to flatten West Indies in his comeback game.With Pakistan axing a whole host of experienced players in recent months – including Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal – there had been murmurs over whether Afridi’s ODI career should have been given yet another lifeline. He’s someone who sees himself as a bowling allrounder in recent years, and with no wickets in six previous ODIs, the doubts were justified. Afridi squashed them, and how – a game-transforming half-century and then the second best one-day bowling figures of all time.Even in a career as wildly fluctuating as his, there can be few moments when the turnaround in fortunes is this stark. It is the ability to deliver these truly gobsmacking performances that has earned him a loyal legion of fans, who swear by him even during extended runs of failures.Before he walked in to bat on a drizzly morning in Providence, Pakistan’s top order had once again keeled over against the moving ball as Jason Holder delivered a searing new-ball spell of 8-4-8-4. The manner of those dismissals would have been as demoralising for Pakistan’s fans as the scoreline, with two top-order batsmen being bowled when looking to leave the ball.Misbah-ul-Haq was playing his usual hold-the-innings-together role scoring at about a run an over, but when Afridi strode out, he was immediately looking to score at a run a ball. Pakistan were 47 for 5 and the team’s last recognised batting pair was in the middle, but that didn’t prevent Afridi from launching his third delivery for six over long-off. Given his kamikaze style of play, a quick end to his innings wouldn’t have surprised. It almost did after he belted another six and a four, but Chris Gayle put down a tough chance at slip.After that, he could take lesser risks despite scoring rapidly as West Indies’ bowlers offered several boundary balls. Marlon Samuels offered long hops and full tosses that were dispatched beyond the rope, Darren Sammy was cleverly dinked over the shoulder before his half-volley was pounded through extra cover to bring up the half-century off 35 deliveries. The man who was expected to be the biggest threat, Sunil Narine, was caned out of the attack, taken for 32 in three overs.On a track where the rest of the Pakistan team combined to score 120 off 245, Afridi plundered 76 off 55, showing the insouciance and big-hitting that typifies his batting. Misbah added to his ever-expanding collection of ODI half-centuries as well, on a track which he called one of the toughest he has come across, and his partnership with Afridi underlined how two vastly different styles of batting can both be crucial to the team’s cause. Their efforts drove Pakistan to 224, which seemed like a challenging target for West Indies.Twenty minutes into the chase, that seemed a far larger score as West Indies were reduced to 7 for 3, the second lowest score for which they have lost three wickets in ODIs. It began with Mohammad Irfan’s swinging, 146kph low full toss that resulted in a golden duck for Johnson Charles in the first over. The pace and bounce of Irfan disconcerted the batsmen, with Darren Bravo the next to go, caught down the leg side.The biggest breakthrough, though, came through a direct hit from Misbah at cover, catching Chris Gayle well short while attempting a single that would have been tough for the quickest of runners, but was hara-kiri for a slow-mover like Gayle. Pakistan knew well the importance of that wicket – Misbah was midway through celebrating the dismissal when he was swamped by his joyous team-mates.Marlon Samuels and Lendl Simmons then cut out all risk, and played ultra-cautious cricket against some top bowling from Pakistan. “Huge pressure is there, huge pressure,” wicketkeeper Umar Akmal frequently reminded the batsmen. The biggest strength in the Pakistan line-up is the quality they have across their bowling, with no major weak links.With Simmons and Samuels batting out 15 overs – and scoring only 34 on a turning track – the required-rate had crept above six, but West Indies were still optimistic of winning. Afridi was only brought on as the sixth bowler, but there was no stopping him from being the headliner. In his second over, he had Simmons stumped and Dwayne Bravo lbw next ball. He was showing off his famous starman celebration, and West Indies’ chances were evaporating.His mix of legspinners, quick sliders, the occasional googly and even the odd offbreak proved too much for West Indies’ batsmen. Kieron Pollard’s had three ducks in his previous four ODI innings, and his lack of confidence was apparent, as he holed out to long-off for 3. Not long after, Afridi had Samuels lbw with a delivery that turned in. The big crowds that had turned up in Guyana knew the game was up and headed for the exit.Afridi’s five-for came soon after as Kemar Roach handed a simple return catch, and his figures were an unbelievable 6-2-6-5, with every delivery seemingly a wicket-taking one. He didn’t strike in the next couple of overs though and was taken out of the attack, before being brought back six overs later as Sammy and Narine somehow survived the other bowlers. RITMO ACELERADO… MAS DIMINUINDO
Vasco e Flamengo começaram com um ritmo acelerado a partida. No primeiro minuto, o Cruz-Maltino levou perigo com Yago Pikachu e Marrony. O Rubro-Negro respondeu aos quatro, com Trauco mandando forte e Fernando Miguel defendendo em dois tempos. Danilo Barcelos ainda chegaria aos 11. Depois deste momento, o ritmo foi diminuindo até o intervalo, fazendo com que Alberto Valentim e Abel Braga mudassem as partes técnica e tática nos vestiários.

VOLTA COM SORTE
O Flamengo voltou forte para o segundo tempo. Logo aos dois minutos, Arrascaeta, o único titular mantido por Abel Braga na equipe para o clássico em comparação com os jogadores que iniciaram na estreia na Libertadores, abriu o placar. After 26.1 overs, with six wickets down, they needed 191 runs to win the match. They left the field on 190 for 6 as the drizzle drifted down. The result awarded a point to each side and South Africa progressed to the semi-finals by virtue of a greater net run rate.If ever one ball was wholly decisive on the outcome of a match, the first ball of the 27th over was it. Kieron Pollard was dismissed when he threw his bat at a Ryan McLaren short ball and was caught at third man.Had Pollard not been out, West Indies would have won the match because they were ahead of the Duckworth-Lewis par for five wickets down. Then it would have been them, not South Africa, who advanced to the semi-finals.As the second innings developed, it seemed more likely West Indies side would pull off a heist. Despite losing Chris Gayle early and seeing their required run-rate soar to 9.5 per over, Marlon Samuels and Pollard plundered 58 runs off 33 balls to resurrect ghosts of tournaments past for South Africa.When the requisite 20 overs had been reach to make sure the match would count West Indies were 14 runs behind the Duckworth-Lewis total they would have needed to win. At 130 for 4, Samuels decided it was time to tuck in and he took 15 runs off Robin Peterson’s next over to close the gap.West Indies fined for slow over-rate

West Indies have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during their rain-affected match against South Africa in Cardiff. Match referee Andy Pycroft found West Indies one over short of their target at the end of the match, taking time allowances into consideration. The captain Dwayne Bravo, who accepted the penalty without contest, was fined 20% of his match fee and his team-mates were fined 10%.

But the fit-again Dale Steyn swung the pendulum back South Africa’s way. He sent down four dot balls, including a superb bouncer, before conceding just two singles and the onus was on the batsmen again. Lonwabo Tsotsobe entered the ring next and Pollard took him on. Two blistering boundaries, one mistimed over third man, the other a pull to midwicket, clawed West Indies in again.The protagonists would not have been misplaced at a Wimbledon doubles match as Samuels set on Steyn again. A pull for four off the first ball of his next over put pressure back on Steyn but he delivered the ace. Full, straight and on-target, he uprooted Samuels’ middle-stump.Enter Dwayne Bravo, whose clip for four kept West Indies exactly on par at the end of the 24th over. Pollard played the shot of the match with a straight drive for four off Tsotsobe in the next over and West Indies inched ahead. They stayed ahead after 26 overs and then Pollard made the mistake he will rue on the flight back home.West Indies had taken 72 runs off the seven overs before Pollard was dismissed and seemed capable to continuing in that vein. The way West Indies batted will not answer questions of whether South Africa – propped up by Colin Ingram’s 73 at the top of the order and the 68-run fifth-wicket stand between Faf du Plessis and David Miller – had managed enough runs in a rain-affected affair.The performance will, however, put to rest some of their other concerns. Ingram notched up his highest score since taking over the opening role and acquitted himself particularly well against the spin of Sunil Narine. He and Hashim Amla put on the highest first-wicket stand of South Africa’s campaign so far.Their finishers had the opportunity to get into the game and did. Du Plessis and Miller took an average total and turned it into something South Africa would feel comfortable with. Most importantly for them, Steyn made a successful return from his side-strain. He bowled at good pace and found swing to restore confidence in their pace attack they can present later in the competition.West Indies showed glimpses of the same. Tino Best bowled quickly – his fastest ball was 151.3kph – Ravi Rampaul had a menacing slower ball and Gayle, Samuels and Pollard cleared the boundary at will. They got the most crucial thing wrong.So often, South Africa have been on that side of the equation. In 1992, they were eliminated from the World Cup because of rain. In 1996, the lost to West Indies. In 1999, they tied a semi-final against Australia and had to leave the World Cup because they had lost to them in the group stage. In 2003, they fell foul of Duckworth-Lewis. And at the 2004 and 2006 Champions Trophies defeats to West Indies put them out.They may well see this result as a cathartic way to move past all of those and an omen that their major tournament fortunes are changing. But the real knockouts are still to come.

The Athletic’s Manchester United correspondent Laurie Whitwell believes that Paul Pogba could leave the club this summer, per a Q&A following the club’s 5-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

A distraction

The France international has forever been a distraction since his move to United.

Pundits have routinely dug the midfielder out – Sky Sports’ Graeme Souness in particular – and one feels that his sale would draw a line under a turbulent period at the club.

The 26-year-old has helped them win the Europa League and the League Cup since a world-record return to the club from Juventus but they have struggled to be competitive in the Premier League.

They did finish second under Jose Mourinho but the Portuguese and the Frenchman repeatedly clashed.

It feels like he has been a sideshow perhaps through no fault of his own; moving him on in the summer makes sense for everybody.
