As duas equipes jogaram, tiveram oportunidades.

Quantas defesas Vanderlei fez?

Jemson drops Nottingham Forest transfer claim ahead of deadline

Former Nottingham Forest star Nigel Jemson insists that the club need new signings before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The Championship club have struggled immensely at the start of the season.

Under the management of Chris Hughton, they are rooted to the bottom of the Championship table and did not win any of their opening four games of the season.

They have been active in the transfer window but have yet to actually invest in a player.

Loan deals for Watford’s Philip Zinckernagel, Arsenal’s Jordi Osei-Tutu, and Manchester United’s James Garner have been struck, as has a free transfer to sign goalkeeper Ethan Horvath.

Jemson insists that Forest will need to splash the cash before Tuesday if they are to ensure that they do not spend the season struggling at the base of the table, especially given the age profile of the current squad.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, he said: “For sure, there has to be new players coming in.

“I’ll be perfectly honest, I’ll be worried if we don’t get any more signings in, about how the season will pan out. It is imperative that we get new signings in, it relieves a little bit of pressure on other people, certainly the younger players because you get new signings and it gives everyone a lift.”

Jemson played for the club between 1988 and 1991.

Geoff Lawson has said he is not bitter about his sacking as Pakistan coach. Lawson revealed he found out about his sacking via a television news bulletin, but maintained he had no grudges against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).”There is definitely no bitterness. What I’ve had in the past 15 months is just a wonderful experience,” he told . “To be able to deal with cricketers of this calibre in a very alien system and a different culture and to deal with the people, it’s actually been one of the great privileges to have been in that situation. It was always going to be an adventure and its been all plusses for me.”Lawson spoke of how he heard of the news. “I eventually had a meeting with Mr Butt on Friday after lunch and we discussed ways forward for Pakistan cricket, what my plans were, and a lot of issues,” said Lawson. “He said he would discuss everything with the board and get back to me on Monday. I was later watching television in my room at about 4.30 and found out I had been sacked.”Lawson attempted to call Butt but had no luck. He then text-messaged Butt. “He called back but obviously didn’t know who it was from,” said Lawson. “When I said this is Geoff Lawson, do you have anything to tell me, he said ‘no, not really’ and hung up. He hasn’t called me back since.”Lawson said that an office bearer from the PCB’s headquarters at the Gaddafi Stadium later came to his room and “very nervously” handed him a piece of paper with two paragraphs written on it. “It had a cheque stapled to the back of it with a very incorrect amount of money and I still haven’t heard back from anyone on the board member or executive officer.”Lawson wrote back to the PCB requesting the correct amount owed to him and heard back from a marketing employee. He said that negotiations were in progress. “Hopefully we will settle things properly on Monday,” said Lawson. “I don’t think I need to speak to Mr Butt again.”Lawson, who will be replaced as Pakistan coach by Intikhab Alam, also said he had received several “touching” messages of support from players.

Wolves transfer update on Caleta-Car

Many Wolves fans have been left lauding a transfer update involving Duje Caleta-Car.

As per RMC Sport, the Midlands club have now reportedly made an offer to try and sign the Marseille central defender worth €15m (£12.8m).

However, West Ham United are also following him, and could turn up with a bid of their own.

The Croatia international was a key player for his team in Ligue 1 in the 2020/21 term, winning no fewer than 3.7 of his duels per match, while he also averaged 3.9 clearances and 1.3 interceptions per game, keeping five clean sheets in the process (Sofascore).

He would certainly give Bruno Lage another handy option in his squad, but it is not known whether their bid will be accepted with the deadline looming.

Johnson happy with his solid results

The state of Australia’s bowling is shown through Mitchell Johnson being the leading wicket-taker with eight victims, double that of Brett Lee, Cameron White and Peter Siddle, in the opening two Tests

The state of Australia’s bowling is shown through Mitchell Johnson being the leading wicket-taker with eight victims, double that of Brett Lee, Cameron White and Peter Siddle, in the opening two Tests. By the tourists’ standards Johnson has been a revelation, but by a more traditional measure his overall contribution has been solid. In the first Test in Bangalore he performed strongly before tailing off in Mohali when the bowlers were under heavy fire. He tried to operate in one-day mode when India were on the way to a lead of 515, but it didn’t work and Australia eventually lost by 320 runs.”I’m not feeling too bad, I was a little bit disappointed in the second innings,” he said. “Other than that, I’m pretty happy with where things are at.”The mood is not shared by the bowling line-up as a whole, which has taken 27 wickets in the opening two matches. Lee has been below-par while the fresh men of Siddle, White and Shane Watson have performed to expectations. Stuart Clark, who has an elbow injury, will add some experience in Delhi from Wednesday if he can recover in time.Australia’s fast men have been behind Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma when it comes to reverse-swing and are exploring ways to catch up. Bowling cross seam is one possibility to achieve quicker deterioration of the ball, but not all the tourists are comfortable with the unconventional grip.”I don’t feel too bad with it,” Johnson said. “Sometimes with my bowling technique and wrist position I don’t need to bowl too many with a cross seam because I tend to hit the rough side anyway. That’s something we’ve tried to do. I might be brought on to really roughen up one side.”Australia have been gaining reverse shortly before the new ball is due while India have managed it within the first 15 overs. Johnson believes variation is essential to breaking up the rhythm of India’s batsmen and he has been particularly successful with a slower off-cutter. His main victim with the ball in the first Test was Sachin Tendulkar, who pushed the delivery to cover.”Variety is key over here, definitely on the wickets we play on,” he said. “There’s not much in it for the quicks, so you need the off-cutters and the slower balls and changes of pace. Also, short balls can come into it a bit, especially if the wickets are staying a bit low.”Johnson showed a glimpse into the current Australian mindset when he said “a lot of the guys – most of the guys – are confident” when discussing the team’s prospects of overcoming the 1-0 deficit. “We can put a lot of pressure on the Indians,” he said. “They’re going to feel it, going 1-0 up. All the pressure is on them now. There is disappointment in losing, but we’ll get back on track.”Johnson had a run-in with Harbhajan Singh during the final day of the second Test, but unlike in the 2007-08 series, there has been no lingering resentment from a handful of minor issues. “I thought I was going to get run out so I basically put my head down and ran straight and ended up running into him,” Johnson said. “Harbhajan said: why did you push me?”I apologised. It was an accident. I basically ran my line and he was in my line. It was all over and done with out there.”

-A atitude precisa mudar.

O time mineiro é o 16° e recebe o Atlético-PR, no próximo domingo, às 19h30, no Independência.
