Crystal Palace will take on Millwall at The Den in the FA Cup third round following the draw on Monday evening.

Matt Woosnam shared the news on Twitter, which duly resulted in a number of Eagles fans giving their thoughts on the all-south London tie.

Patrick Vieira’s side lost their first game of December to Manchester United on Sunday and still have five Premier League fixtures before the New Year.

However, once 2022 comes around, the Eagles will be thinking about a cup tie with the Championship side after taking on West Ham on New Year’s Day.

Palace and Millwall last met back in 2013 in the Championship, the year that the Eagles earned promotion to the Premier League. They last faced off in the FA Cup way back in January 1985 and will meet again between January 7 and 10.

According to reports by Gazzetta dello Sport (via SportWitness), Tottenham are looking at Dušan Vlahović alternatives, leading to the monitoring of Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.

The Lowdown: Spurs need goals

Ever since Fabio Paratici arrived in London, Spurs have been linked with a move for Fiorentina’s Vlahović. The 21-year-old striker is in fantastic form this season, having scored 15 goals in 17 Serie A appearances, making him the league’s top goalscorer. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that it will take a bid of £59.5m to lure the youngster away from the Italian side.

These links emerged after Manchester City offered £125m for Harry Kane in the summer. Spurs of course rejected this offer, but retrospectively this seems like a hasty decision. Kane has struggled this campaign, having scored just one goal in 13 Premier League appearances.

At 29-years-old, the Englishman is in the prime years of his career. If Tottenham did decide to sell the striker, they may never receive an offer anywhere near this previous sum, and perhaps that is why they are searching for cheaper alternatives to Vlahović.

The Latest: Spurs monitoring Scamacca

According to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport (via SportWitness), Tottenham remain extremely interested in the signing of Vlahović.

However, the newspaper claim that Sassuolo’s Scamacca is currently being monitored by a couple of major English teams, and is deemed ‘popular’ in the Premier League.

Tottenham are allegedly one of the teams interested in the player, especially if Kane parts ways with the Lilywhites in 2022.

The Verdict: Sound alternative?

Vlahović is also on Manchester City’s radar, as Pep Guardiola remains without a proper striker. If the Premier League winners decide to not go in for Kane in the summer, it is expected that they will pursue the Serbia international, and perhaps that will take the decision out of Paratici’s hands.

However, Scamacca could prove to be a good alternative. Despite scoring just five goals in 17 appearances this season, the youngster has shown enough potential for Davide Ballardini, one of his managers at Genoa, to liken the 22-year-old to a young Christian Vieri.

The 6 foot 5 Scamacca is described by Whoscored as strong in the air and someone who ‘likes to tackle’, so perhaps he could be the perfect man to spearhead Antonio Conte’s new look Tottenham, performing the sort of role that Romelu Lukaku did for the manager last season at Inter.

وسبق وأن خاض الأخضر بقيادة هيرفي رينارد مباراتين وديتين في يونيو الماضي ضد كولومبيا وفنزويلا وخسر المنتخب السعودي في المباراتين بنفس النتيجة بهدف دون رد.

يذكر أن منتخب الإكوادور تأهل لكأس العالم 2022 بعد حصوله على المركز الرابع في تصفيات أمريكا الجنوبية وتواجد في المجموعة الأولى في مونديال قطر 2022 بصحبة صاحب الأرض منتخب قطر وهولندا والسنغال، وسيكون أحد طرفي مباراة الافتتاح.

ويتواجد منتخب السعودية في المجموعة الثالثة ضمن منافسات كأس العالم بجانب الأرجنتين والمكسيك وبولندا.

Peter Siddle will be nursed through the next week in the hope he can recover from a hamstring problem to appear in the final Test against West Indies in Perth. Speaking to West Ham Zone, former Irons striker Frank McAvennie has been left thrilled by a transfer update involving Paris-Saint Germain star Georginio Wijnaldum.

As per 90min, a major transfer claim emerged last week with West Ham namedropped among the clubs who have refused to rule out signing the former Liverpool star on loan in January.

Indeed, according to their sources, the Hammers and manager David Moyes have been approached by intermediaries and gifted the chance to sign Wijnaldum along with other Premier League clubs.

Despite just signing for PSG after leaving Anfield on a free transfer, it appears the Netherlands international could return to the Premier League as McAvennie shares an excited reaction.

Speaking to WHZ, the ex-West Ham frontman simply ‘can’t believe’ that they are being linked and goes on to say he would be a ‘great addition’ to the side.

McAvennie explained:

“He’s a big player, I just can’t believe West Ham are getting linked in the same breath as this boy because he’s a wonderful talent.

“If West Ham could get him he would be a great addition to the squad.

“I don’t know where he would play, with [Declan] Rice and [Tomas] Soucek in midfield. Maybe he would play Soucek’s role with Rice, or perhaps they could change to play a three in midfield.”

The Verdict: Get it done?

Signing Wijnaldum on a temporary deal with little cost to West Ham could be a shrewd move, with the only major cost being his reported £165,000–per-week wages.

The latter factor makes this a difficult move to pull off considering the club’s current highest earner, Kurt Zouma, is on around £120,000-per-week by comparison.

However, the 85-cap star would certainly add a degree of real quality going forward and may even come as an alternative to Jesse Lingard if West Ham can’t win the race with Newcastle.

He can play in the attacking midfield positions and has often proved deadly when called upon by Pochettino this season, netting two goals in the Champions League group stages.

There are certainly incentives to sign Wijnaldum, but the logistics of his salary could make it difficult.
